In addition to other fellowship events, we have a couple of special women’s gatherings each year. The annual Women’s Brunch on a Saturday morning in October is an opportunity to hear the stories of other women from the congregation. In addition to a delicious brunch and table conversation, each year we invite four women to share stories of significant events, situations or people that have influenced their life journey, their faith, or sense of vocation.
We also try to plan a special women’s event in the spring—for example, our most recent gathering was a “Dinner with Mayada and Friends,” for which Syrian refugee Mayada prepared a delicious meal and we had the opportunity to become acquainted with the women from two Syrian refugee families. These events are publicized in the weekly Pastoral Staff Letter and the Sunday morning bulletin inserts a few weeks in advance.
