Our Seniors Unlimited ministry offers monthly gatherings for older adults in the MAPC community and beyond. The Seniors Unlimited programs are usually held on the second Monday of the month, beginning at 3 pm, September through June. Last year’s program topics included a presentation on Islamic Art with a follow-up tour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; a bus trip to Philipsburg Manor and Kykuit; two lectures through the New York Council on the Humanities: “Campaign Songs of the 19th Century”, and G.B Shaw and “My Fair Lady”; a workshop and slide presentation on the art of paper cutting; a look back at what it was like to grow up in a Japanese internment camp during WWII; tales of a year spent in Zambia told by MAPC’s Global Ministry Fellow; a lecture on the special relationship between England, the U.S. and their leaders; and a tour and afternoon tea at the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum. As you can see, we offer a wide variety of programs and experiences! Check the weekly Pastors’ Letter e-mail for information on upcoming gatherings.
