Church Family Nights

Every couple of months families gather in the Parish Hall for dinner and a movie on Church Family Nights. This is an informal opportunity to get to know other families within the church community and a relaxed way to spend a Friday evening after a hectic week. Dinner fare appeals to both young and mature palates and grownups can enjoy conversation while the children watch a show, play board games or engage in other activities. Those without children at home are welcome–but need to be comfortable with joyful chaos and squeals of glee for most of the evening! You can find information on upcoming gatherings in the weekly Pastors’ Letter e-mail

Families with Young Children

We have a growing population of Families with Young Children at MAPC! Families gather monthly on a Saturday morning from 10 am to noon, either on the Roof Garden or in the Parish Hall (depending on the weather) for conversation and play. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other families in the church. When there is a holiday coming up, such as Halloween, Christmas or Valentine’s Day, we usually have a special activity and treats to mark the occasion.

The Families with Young Children gatherings are on the second Saturday of the month, September through June, unless that falls on a holiday weekend. Families with children ages 5 and under are invited–and older siblings are welcome! There is always coffee, tea, juice, bagels and fruit for a light breakfast.

Parents Prayer Group

The Parents Prayer Group-for those concerned with teens and young adults–meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 8 to 8:30 am during the program year. New members are always welcome. This group has proven to be an important source of support for those who are parenting children through these challenging stages of life.

Mothers of Young Children

Our Mothers of Young Children group meets weekly on Mondays from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Phillips Lounge during the program year. A brief passage of scripture or devotional reading often will serve as a springboard for the conversation—which ranges widely from there to cover a variety of topics currently on our minds. The group provides a haven of support and fellowship for mothers who are able to participate in a weekday gathering. Bring your coffee or tea, and your infant or toddler if you do not have childcare or they are not in school. You do not need to commit to being there every week—the mothers in this group come as they are able.
