J. Richard Frey
Richard came to MAPC in January of 1994 from a background in non-profit management and social service. He holds Masters’ degrees in both Social Work and Business and a Certificate in Financial Planning. Richard finds the variety of his job to be very stimulating as it requires management of the Church’s staff, finances, property and benefits programs, staffing Trustee committees, relating to members of the congregation, liaisoning with investment, architectural, engineering and other professionals, local organizations and on-going schools, and self-help groups.
Richard is also active at the Riverdale Presbyterian Church in the Bronx, where, as an Elder, he is the treasurer and a member of the property, finance and investment committees and the chancel choir. He also chaired the Projects Committee which provided oversight for the restoration and preservation of this historic church and making the church accessible for all.
For relaxation, Richard plays an occasional round of golf, enjoys a wide range of literature including John Grisham, Tom Friedman, Alexander McCall Smith and many others, gardening at his weekend home in Lancaster, PA, and visiting state capitals and presidential homes and libraries.
